Ok, so firstly, Welcome to Back Bay Boxing!
Next, let's cut straight to the point.
This is who we are and this is what we do:
Back Bay Boxing, founded in 2014, offers so much more than a Boxing Workout. We're a diverse Boxing and Fitness Community focused on bringing people of all fitness levels, from all backgrounds, nationalities and orientations together for a unique outdoor boxing workout that you won't find anywhere else in Boston.
We're dedicated to coaching our members correct boxing technique, improving their boxing form and skills while increasing their fitness levels.
Our classes are open to all. We cater for new and experienced boxers. Beginners are always welcome. Our classes incorporate a small bit of strength and conditioning cardio, and mostly partnered 'focus mitts' work (pads work) but don't worry if you've no clue what any of that means, we'll teach you everything you need to know.

Founded by Irish Boxer and Fitness Coach Johnny Murray, Back Bay Boxing is the complete opposite to an old-school, traditional boxing gym.
A Note from Coach Johnny:
'After working in numerous fitness facilities and boxing gyms in both Ireland and the USA, I felt that the boxing gym culture was archaic. What we've created here is something very special. It's not a place anyone should feel they can't come to or a workout that they can't try. It's something everyone can get good at and improve at. The workout is NON-CONTACT and OUTDOORS. Everyone has their own equipment so we keep it as hygienic as possible. There are no egos in this gym community, no 'top-dog', and no BS.'
'We've really focused on creating an workout and community that everyone can try and master and a gym culture that's inclusive to all and supports and respects the values of all it's members.
Our coaches are all current members. We acknowledge that as coaches we are also always learning too. It's not a workout you master in one or two classes. We always have multiple coaches in class. Our coaches all come from within our member-base and buy into our culture and goals. Our 'Members Coaching Program' ensure that all our coaches know our mission, are all well know to our members, know what it's like to be a new member in class. We don't bring in coaches for outside.'
